Engaging your audience

Updated: Nov 23, 2020

IWA’s vision is a world in which water is wisely managed to satisfy the needs of human activities and ecosystems in an equitable and sustainable way. The themes “reduce, reuse and replenish” are the cornerstones of a water wise world. Which inspires IWA members, the community of water professionals, to be the global source of knowledge, experience and leadership for sustainable urban and basin-related water solutions.

IWA is a worldwide network for water professionals and companies, with a membership comprising leading companies in the fields of water services, infrastructure engineering and consulting as well as more than 10,000 individuals. The IWA network is structured to promote multi-level collaboration among its diverse membership groups, and to share the benefit of knowledge on water science, technology and management worldwide.

IWA membership launches its custom created platform to engage the 10000 strong network. Producing animated content can be a fast way to deliver a complex message and reach out beyond traditional constituencies.

Telling the IWA story is profiling its main events like the World Water Congress and Exhibition and the Water and Development Congress & Exhibition. These world class events summarise thought leadership in the world of water. From staging the opening ceremonies, to produce the video coverage of the congresses, the fast paced track of these events is challenge that condenses an incredible amount of knowledge.

Reaching out to the world water stakeholders uses of course social media as a key tool. As a multimedia based communication tool, image is vital. Ensuring you have the right images are taken to be used online is an art. Managing an entire video and photography team was a most rewarding assignment. A true leader is amongst its troops.

IWA is a current adventure with which I contribute to its mission of reducing water inequality, re-using water and waster water nutrients and replenish water sources. Check the vimeo channel I produce: https://vimeo.com/iwahq
